Dear Sir,
In what I assume is an attempt to save water, the showers on the beach of Santa Ponsa have been turned off so naturally people will go back to their apartments and shower there, stupid or what?

Also the ice factory has been told not to produce fresh water because the council said it was unhygienic to produce ice cubes and pure, fresh-water which the ice factory did, not the normal bottled water full of chemicals and lime scale.

The ice factory sold their water to many businesses and individuals, could they have trod on somebody's toes? Now all these people will again be using bottled water and domestic water, stupid or what? Also for an island that cries out about a water shortage, and blames tourists, why in the name of God are thousands more houses, apartments and villa's being thrown up all over the island, often with huge swimming pools and all requiring domestic water, most of which are not being built for tourists what kind of water shortage will this island have just a few years down the road? It seems to me that we are not far off the day when water will be rationed to just a few hours a day, wait and see. Why has this island, not spent some of the vast tourist revenues on desalination plants years ago, why has it not prevented more and more buildings, where do they think the resources are coming from that all these new flats, houses and villa's will need?

Of course all the tourists who are now blamed for all the ills of the island can go elsewhere then the Majorcans can all go back to their fincas, pueblos and donkey's and the unemployment and poverty that goes with it, then maybe they might be happy? This is not magic island, its fantasy island. I have a home here I live here for a large part of the year, I love this island and it's prople, I choose to live here, I pay taxes here, spend my money here but for God's sake, wake up. Of course I am simple well-travelled, ex-sergeant-Major so maybe I have got it all wrong.
