Knocking down five and replacing them with two. It sounds a good idea but the five they are replacing are two super-luxury four star hotels. Majorca's booming tourist industry was built around the three star hotel which offered good service and food at economicy prices. The island is a mass tourist resort.

Many of the holidaymakers who come to the island year after year will be unable to afford four star prices and will probably go elsewhere. I am infavour of trying to take PART on the tourist industry up-market but there is a limit to the number of four and five star hotels which can be built. The industry has to be built around the size of the wallet or purse of the average tourist and not the big spending millionaire.
