Dear Sir,

Regarding the Isreali/Palestinian issue, thank God for Ray Fleming's voice of reason. I am neither Israeli or Arab so would like to think that my personal view on the matter is unbiased. Unfortunately this has never been accepted because like you I do not agree with what the Israeli's are doing and have been doing over past years including Sharon's part in the massacre of thousands of Palestinians in Sabra and Chatila refugee camps. The mass graves of dead Palestinians found in the late forties or the massacre in forty eight when Zionists, the then terrorists, rolled a barrel of T.N.T. into Jaffa town centre. The people this failed to kill were shot down when fleeing for their lives. But these acts of terrorism committed against a people who were mostly forcibly dispossessed of their land are numerous. The Israelis win the propaganda war by claiming to defend themselves when in most cases they incite the situation. When will they realise that if you keep kicking a dog one day it will turn and bite you. And if people don't speak out we could well have another holocaust on our hands because Sharon's attitude appears to be to get in there and kill as many as we can before anyone stops us.

Indeed one has to ask who are the terrorists in this situation? I don't believe for one moment that Mr. Sharon wants to stop the suicide bombing because it gives him the reason to carry out more massacres. In fact the Palestinians play right into his hands. But what do you do when you are a desperate people? When you are deprived of water and electricity and your life is made unbearable and unliveable by a people who's only aim seems to be to remove you from existence. They don't have what Isreal has, tanks, planes and an atom bomb to fight with so of course they use the only thing they've got...themselves...and who can blame them? Not all Israelis or Jewish people agree with what is happening and I pray that their voices will be heard so that some sanity can be brought back to the situation.

No I'm not anti Semitic as no doubt a few of your regular readers will claim. I know Ray Fleming has been accused of this many times and think it is rather a sad and unintelligent way of reacting when someone doesn't approve of your point of view. But I suggest that they and others like them start to use their heads more than their emotions. You can kill thousands but at the end of the day there are thousands more and the hate is growing even greater. Israel has a right to exist but so too do the Palestinians. I think Ray Fleming is very brave in voicing his opinion and really it is only through people like him that changes are brought about. I don't want my name published because I really don't want to get caught up in a letter war with anyone. But I wish I had known about the march in Palma last week in support of the Palestinians because I would have been there. Perhaps if such a thing is to happen again they could publish it in the Bulletin
