Dear Editor.

I recently returned from my annual sojourn on Majorca, and having followed your daily articles on the state of the islands beaches, I thought I'd drop you a note about Platja D'en Repic in the port of Soller. This beach is popular with both locals and tourists alike. It is in fine condition, the water clean and a special mention goes to resident 'beach bum', Senor John, who voluntarily keeps the small beach area in front of the Marina Hotel in spotless condition, cleaning and raking the sand early morning and again in the evenings. I hope the efforts shown by John and the owners of the sunbeds and pedalos on other areas of the beach gain another blue flag for the island next year. Whilst there are so often tales of woe and gloom about Majorca, there is still much to boast about and I certainly will return without hesitation.
