OBVIOUSLY, I know nothing about football.
I watched the England v Spain game and I did not think that the reshuffled home side played so miserably.
With no Rooney, Terry, both Coles, Owen, Lennon and Robinson, McClaren had a few gaps to patch up and I thought that England got off to a pacey start and came close to scoring two within as many minutes.

Spain's youngsters, they too flew to England minus a handful of key players, rose to the challenge and, for the most part, the two sides produced an exciting friendly.

OK, England lost and still have a problem with passing. Well, that's nothing new, we've had the same problem ever since Keegan was in charge.
But, I ask the expert pundits, since when have we expected so much of an England side which has won nothing since England were a late substitute in Le Tornoi back in the last millennium?

Yes, there seems to be a lack of winning spirit, but with top premiership managers allegedly dictating how many minutes their stars can play and reminding their players who pays their wages as they head off on international duty, Lamps and co. were probably too busy balancing the books than balancing the midfield at Old Trafford.

Perhaps those who are still too injured to play for their clubs this weekend, Rooney will probably be fit, should watch the English rugby team in action.

They have managed to revive their fortunes after a miserable run.
