This year is a big year for Britain with the London Olympics, paralympics and the Jubilee celebrations and Britain quite rightly wants to cash-in. Infact Prime Minister David Cameron highlighted tourism as one of the industries of the future. What I didn´t know was that Britain was out to get all the tourists who usually come on holiday to the Balearics. A new advertising campaign has been launched in Britain which underlines the virtues of holidaying at home. “Forget the euro and your passport,” is the message of these rather good television advertisements which are aimed exclusively at the British public. Stephen Fry leads an all star cast. Luckily, the Balearics has not been identified in the advertisements but the Algarve certainly has, under the banner stay at home in 2012. Britain is a great country to visit and it has some great places. Indeed 2012 is a great year for Britain but it is missing something that we are very lucky to have in abundance. The great weather.
