With respect, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth must be this week's choice -- as she may well also be for Person of the Year in her Diamond Jubilee. At a special ceremony in Westminster Hall in the presence of both Houses of Parliament she said she wanted to “rededicate myself to the service of this great country”, paid tribute to Prince Philip (”a constant strength and guide”) revealed that she had signed into law more than three thousand Bills, and reflected that “I have had the pleasurable duty of treating with twelve prime ministers” (an interesting and unusual choice of verb).
