For Engelbert Humperdinck (aka Arnold George Dorsey) who has accepted the BBC's invitation to represent Britain in the Eurovision Song Contest. At the age of 75 and without a top hit since 1972 he may seem an odd choice but Britain's record in this event is so poor that a ballad singer of status with a following in many parts of the world may be a shrewd judgement of changing fashions in popular music. Will his chosen song Love Will Set You Free repeat the past success of Release Me or will it be nul points for the UK again?
