The Balearic government has been extremely quick to announce how it intends to splash the cash it hopes to receive from the European Union, via Madrid, this year as part of its Covid revival plan. Most of them, to be honest, will unlikely get the green light. The whole idea of the EU package is socioeconomic reform, not new trams and trains or expanding the airport - the people who have lost their jobs, businesses and homes will benefit very little from any of that.

Why not spend the money on the island's woeful infrastructure and this will attract tourists. Having raw sewage spilling on beaches is not acceptable. Rather fix this than some stupid racetrack.
I'd obviously bow to Son Fe Mick's expertise as listed below but not sure I agree totally. I think what he is saying is that without an incredible investment any track built here would be below the standard expected of F1. And totally would agree. However if an F1 GP and a Moto GP could be attracted to either a circuit using existing main roads or in Palma, just maybe something could be done. As Mick will know well Spa Francorchamps is based on the main roads of Belgium. Sure local resident Mark Blundell would help out. I'm BRDC Mick, you?
I suggest you pop over to Barcelona and check out the Circuit Catalunya or may be Spa Francorchamps in Belgium and you will see what a daft idea building a circuit in Mallorca is. I speak as someone who has built race cars, organised racing series throughout the world and raced myself for twenty years
