I did think that I was in touch with British public opinion but I was proved wrong over Brexit and the same thing could happen with Scottish independence. I believe that Scotland should continue to be part of the United Kingdom and this push for a breakaway, I think, has come about because of a lack of communication between Edinburgh and London.
Viewpoint: Scottish breakaway
Their response rather surprised me

So a bunch of English people who had their referendum to leave a political union in 2015, and had their decision upheld and enforced over the wishes of Scottish and Northern Irish people should have a veto over whether Scotland should leave the UK union, which is supposedly based on consent.? You must be joking.
Scotland had a vote on this once in a generation subject 6 years ago. Personally if the jocks wish to go on their own most of us in the English boarder counties would be ok with that. However how Scotland would replace the £30billion in direct transfer funds from U.K. /English taxpayer via Barnett fascinates me. The factor of Scotland joining the European Union at independence will compromise Spain in view of the Catalonia situation.
