The Mallorca Live Festival starts on Thursday, but before then there is an ‘Off Festival’ gig at Bellver Castle that will feature one of Spain’s top indie acts, Sidonie.
From Barcelona, they were formed in 1997 and are known for a mix of styles that includes psychedelia. The trio started their recording career with English lyrics, but from their third album on they switched to Spanish.
There have been eleven studio albums in all, including the 2020 ‘El Regreso de Abba’, The Return of Abba, which had nothing to do with the Swedish group; Abba Chavanel was the main character in a novel written by singer and guitarist Marc Ros. The support will be another band appearing at the festival, Mallorcan power-pop trio Go Cactus.
