The Deya International Music Festival will this year be celebrating its 45th edition.

A summer-long festival, it is a highlight on the island’s music calendar not just for the calibre of musician but also for its spectacular location - the Son Marroig estate in Deya, perched on a Tramuntana cliff top and overlooking Sa Foradada, the small peninsula with a hole in it.

Some concerts are shared with two other venues - Palau March in Palma and Sa Bassa Rotja in Porreres - but they all originate at Son Marroig. The first concert for this season will be on June 14 - a piano duo of Maria del Hoyo Perez de Rada and Dina Nedeltcheva whose programme will include Schubert’s Fantasia and Fauré’s Dolly Suite. The final concert will be on September 27.
