Five years waiting for Jackie Oates

English folk singer and fiddle player Jackie Oates was due to have debuted in Mallorca in March 2020.

Covid intervened, and her concerts in Palma and Sa Pobla were cancelled.
Ever since being a 2003 finalist for BBC Radio 2’s Young Folk Award, she has been a major force on the UK folk scene, her haunting singing style having placed her at the forefront of the new folk revolution in England. She has recorded eight solo albums and five others in collaboration with different artists. She is now due to appear in Mallorca as part of the ongoing Women don’t Wait for Waits series, as she was in 2020. Pianist and guitarist Mike Cosgrove will accompany her.
