One of the true greats of flamenco

José Mercé needs no introduction for flamenco-singing aficionados.

One of the best-known names of the past fifty or so years - he’s now 70 - he first performed at flamenco festivals when he was twelve.

From the Cádiz province and so right in the heart of flamenco territory, his first album featured none other than Paco de Lucía on guitar. His awards include having been named a Favourite Son of Andalusia and the Spanish culture ministry’s Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts. Both of these were in 2024.

In Mallorca he will be performing at a special concert that is a benefit for research into motor neuron disease and multiple sclerosis.
