In 2013, Roberto Sánchez took a life-changing decision.
He quit a well-paid job in the banking world and moved from Barcelona back to where he had grown up - Mairena de Alijarafe in Seville. He has never regretted the decision. He doesn’t make the some money he used to, but he is “much happier”, having embarked on a career as a professional musician and forming a Dire Straits tribute group. As the lead singer and lead guitarist with Alchemy Project, his role is clear - that of Mark Knopfler.
There are seven members of the group - another guitarist plus bassist, drummer, two keyboard players and saxophonist. Their show, up to two and a half hours of it, includes material from ‘Alchemy: Dire Straits Live’, the album of the legendary Hammersmith Odeon concert in 1983, as well as from other ‘Brothers in Arms’ and others.
