While Louis Vuitton have been causing something of a stir because of their renting of Bellver Castle, the mediaeval fortress will return to normality in late June when the Balearic Symphony Orchestra kick off their always popular season of concerts.
The soloist for the first of four concerts will be Russian pianist Denis Kozhukhin, who first came to international prominence aged 20 when coming third in the 2006 Leeds International Piano Competition. Described as a pianist of “exceptional technique, emotional depth and sophistication”. The programme will feature a work considered to be one of the pinnacles of the piano concerto repertoire - Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4.
