Palma airport will be one of the airports affected by the Ryanair ground handling strike.
The stoppages will begin on 28 October and will last until 7 January 2023. Employees will go on strike full or part-time, in various time slots throughout the days.
The aim is to achieve the first collective agreement for ground staff.

The airports of Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona-El Prat, Malaga, Alicante, Seville, Valencia, Girona, Santiago de Compostela, Ibiza, Reus, Tenerife South, Tenerife North, Lanzarote, Jerez, Santander, Gran Canaria, Zaragoza, Fuerteventura, Minorca, Almeria, Valladolid and Murcia, will also join the strike.

Vueling cabin crew members have also called strikes every Friday, Sunday, Monday and public holiday between 1 November and 31 January to demand a 13.4% wage increase by 2022.

Workers are being called out on strike by the Union of Airline Flight Attendants (Stavla), which said in a statement that it would have liked to avoid the strike but found it “irremediable”.

“The cabin crew collective cannot continue to be immersed in the precarious wage situation in which it finds itself while the company drags out the negotiation of the collective agreement,” the union added.
