The right to vote

THE right to vote, a keystone of democracy, has not been won easily, and it is still denied to too many people in too many countries to be treated casually. As the situation in Calvia showed, it cannot be taken for granted. The vote for foreigners on Majorca was a long time coming and we should not waste it. Majorcan residents eligible to vote in Europe have until the end of May to make sure that they are on the census and electoral role and will not be turned away at the polling booths.
