I also have to agree with the previous comments regarding hire cars. As a regular visitor to the island I was dismayed at the new policy of returning the car empty from Palma Airport if using for more than 3 days. I have used Record now for about 4 years and last week it will be for the last time.
Knowing of this policy from my previous visit a couple of weeks previous, I decided to opt for the smallest car possible in their range to reduce the fuel cost.
However to my horror they gave me an upgraded car for no extra hire cost with the exception of the cost of a tank of fuel which I had to pay 20 euros more for. Despite my protests and request for a smaller car or allow me to return the car full they blankly refused. I see this policy as pure greed from the hire companies and it is something that will create a negative start to peoples holiday's on this island.
Like other readers I will now be looking elsewhere to hire my car.

I am part of a small family based Rent a Car VISIONCAR in C'an Pastilla en Cala Estancia. We are not airport based but offer a personal minibus service to our offices only 5 minutes from the airport.
We give information to our clients about vehicle hire with a large range of motorbikes and cars. We also have vans and bicycles for rent. We can also give information about attractions in Majorca.
We do not charge for fuel,.
Our prices include everything fully comprehensive insurance, unlimited kilometers, IVA, and of course road maps. We do not take deposits or charge extras on credit cards. There are several small companies in the Playa de Palma area that have the same conditions as us. Please do not think that all car hire companies are the same as the monster companies in the airport. Being smaller companies we offer a personal service to all our clients they are not just a number or a reservation in the computer at the airport but people here on holiday wanting the very best to enjoy their time here on the island and we do all that is possible to help them.
