...for Nick Griffin, leader of the British National Party which had a disastrous election week, losing the great majority of seats it had held in local councils and making no progress in the parliamentary vote. In Barking, Griffin was beaten into third place, 18'000 votes behind Labour's Margaret Hodge who told him, “Get out and stay out, you're not wanted here and your vile policies have no place in British democracy.” The British people may be concerned about immigration but they clearly do not want Griffin's or the BNP's solutions.
