FOR the unknown and modest heroes who emerged from the testimony given at the inquest into deaths at the July 7, 2005, London terrorist bombing. After a five months hearing Lady Justice Hallett delivered an “unlawful killing” verdict last week. Although not all the bereaved families will be satisfied with the verdict, few will quarrel with the tribute the coroner paid to the staff of rescue services and to members of the public who were brave, resourceful and compassionate in their rescue work.
