Dear Sir, I found Humphrey Carter's article on the proposal to market Palma as a weekend destination interesting.
There are many of us in the UK who would love to visit Palma in this way but the problems start not in the city but with the airlines who either jack up fares on a Friday and Sunday to such an extent it is a non starter or, more frustrating, they simply cut off flights altogether from October till April.

The vast majority of Brits would use Palma as an out of season weekend break destination providing valuable tourist revenues but until someone persuades the airlines that there is a market out there the proposal will (excuse the pun) not get off the ground.
