I find it rather amazing that prostitutes are still allowed to “work” the streets of Magalluf despite hundreds of complaints from tourists and the business community. As we report today British families are staying clear of Magalluf because of the “prostitute problem.” Why can´t the police be given emergency powers to move them along once and for all?

Why isn´t the council doing more especially as Magalluf is up in arms? Unfortunately, the Calvia resort is not alone with the Playa de Palma suffering a similar prostitution problem. Enough is enough. Magalluf already has a bad reputation and this problem with prostitution is only making things worse. I just find the whole thing amazing and it just rather sums up the problems within the tourist industry at the moment; everyone knows that there is a problem but no-one is doing anything about it. You can´t blame the police because they are doing everything in their power to try and resolve the problem. What the council could do is introduce a council ban on street prostitution. At least this would give the police some additional powers. Something has to be done because otherwise the few tourists going to Magalluf are simply going to go elsewhere in a new blow to Majorca.
