FOR Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, for deciding to include Zimbabwe in a wider visit to Africa in the hope of meeting President Mugabe and discussing with him the serious ill-treatment of Christians in his country who make up about 80 per cent of the population. It is ten years since a senior representative of British Anglicans visited Zimbabwe; Dr Williams has emphasized that his visit will be pastoral rather than political but the truth is that everything in Zimbabwe is political.
