FOR most of this week local newspapers have been desperately trying to get access to the set of the Hollywood blockbuster, Cloud Atlas, which is being filmed in Puerto Soller and Glasgow. In Soller access to the whole film set has been denied which is quite understandable because afterall they have a movie to make. However, in Glasgow on Friday the media were allowed access to the set and a large number of photographs were beamed across the world of Halle Berry and other cast members in action.

Overall, it was great promotion for Glasgow as a film-making city. I only hope that this same access, at some stage, will be granted to the local media, as well. Majorca is also a great movie-making venue and the whole world should be able to see it. I know for a fact that some local photographers have been turned away from the film set in Majorca and seeing the Glasgow photos yesterday didn´t exactly make them feel any better. No double standards please, equal access for all in Glasgow and in Soller.
