Dear Sir

I am writing in response to the numerous letters on Friday 23rd September regarding the lack of flights during the winter months. We have a apartment in Sta Ponsa that we used to regularly let through the winter months to people looking for a winter break.

With the clampdown of illegal lettings we stopped letting our apartment as we did not want to risk the ridiculous fines and it now sits empty unless we visit.

The vast majority of these visitors used the local facilities , restaurants etc and would have come on these direct flights.
It's no coincidence that these flights have become less frequent not just in the winter months but also the summer months and the decline you can track back to when the government started the draconian clampdown.

If the Hotels don't want to open there doors from October to April, then why don't the government allow the letting of private residences during these months?

Dean Harding.
