TEACHERShave done the honourable thing and have agreed to temporarily postpone their strike action in the interests of their pupils. The dispute is certainly not over, it is more like a pause than an actual settlement. Further protests are expected to take place. The Balearic government in no-way should celebrate this "postponement" as a victory. There are no winners in this dispute and the biggest losers are the students who have been left with no classes for more than a month. The Balearic government needs to look closely at the new teaching plan. Obviously, there are not the necessary resources in place at the moment for the introduction of the new three language learning plan in English, Spanish Catalan. The best thing the Balearic government can do is work closely with the teachers and come up with a plan which suits both sides but above all helps local students. The government can´t expect teachers to perform a miracle with no resources.
