By Jason Moore THERE is nothing I like better than the annual political conference season. First the Liberal Democrats, then Labour (new and old!) and now the Tories. Before you say, get a life (!), I feel they give a real insight into the state of the political scene in Britain and also there is plenty of intrigue. Forget the soaps, the Labour Party conference last week had everything from back-stabbing to in-fighting and good old political battles. It was the golden moment for Chancellor Gordon Brown, making his first speech as leader in-waiting; unfortunately he did a bit of a David Davis, and his conference speech did him few favours; the fact that Cherie Blair waded in as well, kept the tabloids happy. And then there was Tony Blair's speech; it may have been his last bit I am sure that many grass-root Labour supporters will not be counting the days to his departure; if you had to chose a winner it was Blair for sure, with a polished peformance. But it didn't stop there enter Bill Clinton, who I don't think could have praised Blair more than he did. And now the Tories, well they all appear to be supporting David Cameron but their body language says differently. I get the impression that the True Blues I not about to become any greener, but time will tell. Politicial intrigue of the highest order and it will be interesting to see whether the party unity lasts all week.
