Dear Editor,

W hen the previous Wall Street crash happened, the heads of the banks concerned were throwing themselves off high buildings because of their losses.
This time, as with the head of Lehmans Bank, they have covered themselves. Appearing to have had prior knowledge of the collapse they have sold their share options thereby protecting themselves and their families by putting millions of pounds and dollars away in safe places before it happened, leaving the rest of us to pick up the pieces.

Surely, governments around the world should scrutinise the banking organisations more closely to prevent this happening again.
Is this not “insider dealing” when a banker uses prior knowledge for his own gains and makes money out of it?
Yours truly

Dear Sir,

When I read Lynn Evans article (about the low points of living in Majorca) in the Daily Mail my reaction was what a sad lady. However papers have the knack of making innocent remarks appear hostile. I believe that ones life is the same wherever you are, the same problems, the same hassles wherever you live. I also believe that Majorca is a wonderful place to face life hassles and although at present my family and I can only stay for short periods through the year, I would be very happy to spend my whole life in Majorca. Remember great beaches, wonderful scenery, cheaper fuel, good food and wine and sunshine!! Regards

Sally Schofield.

Editor´s note: I can´t speak for other newspapers but at the Bulletin an innocent remark is an innocent remark!
