On Wednesday, the Enchanted Princess visited Palma for the first time. Operated by Princess Cruises, a subsidiary of the Carnival Corporation, the ship made its maiden voyage in November 2021 and is now on its first season in the Mediterranean.

In the world of cruising that is what Magaluf or Benidorm would look like boxed up and floated off. Regarding stability as long as there is more weight under the water than above its OK . Stabilisers are to stop the passengers regurgitating their breakfasts over other passengers . Windage is the big problem. Youtube has plenty of clips of these things blowing around in port and squashing anything that gets in the way. The squiggly blue bits at the front are called dazzle camouflage. They make it difficult to see which way the ship is going, so making it easier to sneak into port and tie up before the authorities realise there are already three ships docked and you shouldn't be there .
Apart from all arguments about these behemoth’s considerable pollution and their spewing of swarms of low-spending daytrippers into Palma, they are the most ugly things afloat. And as Stan has pointed out, they are inherently unstable.
These huge Top Heavy Ships must have large underwater stabilisers for use in stormy weather. Otherwise they could roll over.
