Dear Editor,
May I remark that sometimes I think news is misplaced. Just as I am of the opinion that Mrs Robinson's letters would be far better addressed to the Spanish press rather than to English readers. So occasionally one finds news items in the Spanish press which should appear in your columns. There is much sometimes misguided chiding of the UK, especially recently. Why not celebrate something in style. Jocelyn Hillgarth has lived in Majorca since the early thirties. He is one of the most famous historians of Spanish History. The fact that he, an Englishman, has just been awarded the Ramon Llull Gold Medal by the Balearic Government deserves our hearty congratulations.

Editor's note: I fully support your call for hearty congratulations to Mr. Jocelyn Hillgarth, and re-publish the photograph of the happy occasion which appeared in the Bulletin.
