Dear Sir,
There has been an awful lot of negative comment re Majorca of late. May I, through your columns tell your readers of my recent experiences. I wish to convey my sincere thanks & gratitude to all the staff, and indeed patients too, at the SON DURETA Hospital in Palma for their kindness, care, dedication & professionalism given to me during the period 12 to 22 June. On suffering a major heart attack on June 12 I was initially taken to a private clinic in Palma, but without major cardiac facilities was moved to SON DURETA and at once given emergency surgery. I cannot stress how well I was treated by everyone, and despite being a 'Foreigner' I received the utmost attention in surroundings that were unbelievably superb. Much has been written about the poor state of our NHS & on seeing at first hand the facilities which Majorca had to offer I can fully understand our concerns.
A big thank you to Son Dureta
