THE SAME OLD STORY IN MAJORCA

A lthough I have been away in South Africa for the last three and a half months, nothing seems to have changed in the tone of letters to your paper re the tourist industry. South Africa offers the most wonderful value (admittedly the exchange rate is in our favour), but the standard of service in every respect leaves Majorca standing. The prices for wines and excellent food represents wonderful value, but most of all, the staff make you feel so welcomed.
Yes, the crime is a very serious matter, but then I have experienced three serious thefts during holidays on the Island.
Let us hope that a fall off in tourism will be a wake-up call for all parties to get their act together.
