By Jason Moore THERE are many things which rather puzzle me over the alleged Andratx planning scandal. Perhaps in months to come they will be resolved but until then I am certainly in the dark on these key issues.

1). Did it really need a large number of uniformed police officers to arrest the Mayor? Surely, two plain-clothed officers could have done the job without causing such a stir.

2). I don't understand why it was necessary to announce that there will be no further raids on councils on the island... especially as Balearic leader Jaume Matas claimed that they had received information which indicated that a further five councils would be raided.

3). I think one of the priorities of the police at the moment is to bring the person who allegedly tipped off the Mayor about the police raid to be brought to justice. This is vital.

4). The police should also investigate allegations that opposition parties knew details about the raid, an allegation which has been made by the Balearic government.

5). It must be remembered that the former Mayor of Andratx had been Mayor for three parties: the socialists, the Majorcan Unionists and the Partido Popular.

Perhaps an all party investigation into the whole affair is called for.
