Dear Sir, I was one of the lucky 300 Real Mallorca fans who managed to obtain tickets for Sunday night's game against Real Madrid in the Bernabeu.
In front of a TV audience reckoned to be in the tens of millions worldwide, for 70 minutes the island side outplayed and out-thought the Madrid giants.

There was a deadly silence amongst the 82'000 capacity crowd when little Mallorca deservedly took the lead after 15 minutes.
They had previously rattled the woodwork after just 30 seconds.
A combination of bad luck and tiredness finally overcame the Palma team, but boy (in their 3-1 defeat) did we put the wind up the Madrileños sails.
The after-show party in the ground was just breath-taking but I dread to think what would have happened if we had won.

PS. We travelled back from the Bernabeu to our hotel on the underground metro system. Although there were hundreds of Real Madrid fans on board the trains celebrating their La Liga title, there was no hint of trouble.
