Would the British government kindly bring the banks into line once and for all? Yet another banking scandal and yet another hefty fine for Barclays Bank in the lending scandal. Others are expected to receive similar treatment. The banks are rapidly becoming the unacceptable face of capitalism. Rather than spending millions on an inquiry into standards in the media a full blown investigation is needed into the major British banks and their antics. Two of the four British banks are owned by the tax-payer but still regulation appears to be sadly missing. Small businesses in Britain are suffering because credit is not being made available. At the same time bank bosses are receiving enormous bonuses. The British economy will not start growing again until the banks start behaving like banks again. So the government should set-up a full investigation into the banks because their behaviour has been more like a bookie than a trusted bank manager.
