Boris Johnson, for his role in the success of the London Olympics, for the unpredictability which he brings to Britain's otherwise rather boring political scene and for his readiness to say out in the open what a lot of people think about the limitations of Britain's current coalition government. It is not necessary, for instance, to agree with Boris about his Thames Estuary airport project as a solution to London's airport problem but the fact that he actually has a positive proposal on the drawing board instead of just generalised criticisms keeps the issue in the news.
