To the Majorcan Hoteliers Federation who gave a stark warning this week about a broken Balearic economy as the hotel occupancy rate fell to 90 percent in August. At last an official body is putting pressure on local officials about the state of our principal industry. During August local hotels are usually 100 percent full and there are cases of overbooking. The time for talking is over. Now the Balearic Ministry for tourism has to address many of the problems which are affecting our principal industry.
