Please don't say all residents want a return of the I.D. card. I have lived in Minorca for 16 years and the best thing the Spanish government has done is to get rid of it. I cant see why anyone would want to visit the police every five years and have to pay, wasting a morning waiting in line. I have no problem carrying my passport around. I hope the Spanish government does not bring it back.
