Upon reading Anna Nicholas's promotional account of Es Rebost and advising it as being well worth a visit, we did just that. Ordering a beer for my husband I was waved towards a chiller to find one. The server was surprised when I asked for a glass, and my coffee, when it arrived, was in a cardboard beaker - half empty. I asked for it in a cup and was told he hadn't any! I took a spoon to use and it was taken from me to be replaced by a plastic stick. My husband came over and demanded a cup for me, first the same coffee was poured into an ordinary glass, as that was refused it was finally put in a cup but by now stone cold and well nigh undrinkable. Perhaps he thought we were just tourists and presumed he wouldn't see us again. Which he won't! Jill Staley
