To all those who forecast the demise of the euro single currency in 2012. The euro is still with us and it appears to have turned the corner. I am no fan of the single currency but I know what it means to our livelihood and to Spain in general. The austerity packages which have been introduced by many governments across the European Union should mean that we will soon start pulling clear of recession. The euro looks set to survive one of its biggest tests.
