Dear Editor, WHILST some price increases are justified, others must surely be open to question.
For example:
1) Proposed April/June increase in cost of public transport. How can giving under 14 year olds free public transport be justified when hiking fares for all other public transport users?

2) 26 percent increase in rubbish tax whilst failing/unable/or refusing to deal with: a. Manufacturers who are generating a large percentage of the rubbish/packaging which is passed to us, deal with its disposal. b. The biweekly (not including fiestas) rubbish generated by the “botellon”.
Both proposed tax increases smack of “gerrymandering” but this of course will be vehemently denied.
PS Might we be told if under 14's free travel is during school time/term or “carte blanche”? Yours sincerely, M. Irving, Portals Nous
