Sorry, but I have no pity with Tom Pierrepoint re his problem having dental work carried out due to his inability to speak Spanish. If he is actually residing in Majorca as a pensioner. he could make an effort to learn the language, this is not a mini Britain (or Germany for that matter) it is either laziness, stupidity, ignorance or even arrogance that causes people not to bother learning Spanish - which is after all, one of the easiest languages to learn. Am fed up with both Germans and British going around just assuming the locals have learnt our language, try doing that in France or Italy and you would be ignored. Instead of these pensioners having their bingo sessions perhaps set aside some time to learn the language of the country they choose to reside in! Frances Demoulin
