By Jason Moore MY heart goes out to Real Mallorca fans after the dismal performance against Real Madrid on Sunday. All I hope is that Freddy Shepherd, the former Newcastle chairman who is allegedly preparing a bid for the club, didn´t see Sunday´s game because it was dismal. There is so much wrong with Real Mallorca at the moment I just feel sorry for the true fans who continue to support the club. Real Mallorca don´t look like a first division side, they lack quality players. It was a pretty average Real Madrid side which came to the Ono Stadium on Sunday and Real Mallorca made them look like the “Dream Team.” Freddy Shepherd is said to be preparing a bid of about one million euros for Real Mallorca and he has agreed to take on the club debt of 40 million euros. This is quite a good deal and hopefully he will provide some extra cash to spend on players. If Real Mallorca does not make some new signings soon next year the club will be in the second division. A great shame. The only bright point of the match on Sunday was the crowd of 18'000. This compared with the 2'000 who turned up to watch the Cup match midweek. So why the big difference? The answer is simple; there are more Madrid fans on the island than Mallorca supporters.
