REGARDING Isobel Liddle's letter about English language films, surely she is missing the point. As a film enthusiast, I do not want to see a film dubbed into another language. I wish to see an English language film as the director intended, not because I have no command of the local language.

I do not expect an Almodovar or Amenábar film to be dubbed into English, I wish to see it in Castellano with the added help of subtitles. Neither do I wish to see Colin Firth as King George VI speaking in Spanish as I believe that it would detract from an otherwise great film.

By the way - Can your newspaper lobby for The King's Speech to be shown in English?
