I wish politicians would take the blame for their past actions rather than just sweeping them under the carpet. Ed Balls, the shadow Chancellor, was busy trying to underline the faults in the coalition´s economic policies on Friday just hours after figures showed that the British economy had slipped back into negative growth. It is the job of the opposition to shadow and question the government, but Balls went further branding the coalition´s economic record as a disaster. This was the same Ed Balls, who as First Secretary for the Treasury, masterminded probably one of the biggest disasters ever at the Treasury when Britain borrowed billions but kept spending at the same level. This has meant that the coalition has been forced to reduce spending and hope and pray that private investment will save the day. Ed Balls should take some blame for the economic disaster he is so quick to mention. It was a disaster that he helped conceive but he will never say that ofcourse!
