Dear Sir

SOME nine months ago, we in Playa de Muro were sent a letter from the local council telling us that the water was not to be drunk or used for cooking etc.

Since then we have heard nothing more and we have privately had the water tested and it is still too high in nitrates to be safe to use.
Can you not put pressure on the council to do something with the situation. We are still receiving water bills which recently went up, yet we can only use the water for washing and have to buy bottled water.

It would be interesting to know if the hotels tell their visitors about the situation or if the restaurants use it for cooking. I very much doubt it.
Yours Sincerely
Sylvia Warr

Dear Sir,

ALTHOUGH quite often I use Matthew O'Connor's Allsports column of Premier League or sporting predictions to help me with my bets for the year, I have to say he has surely outdone himself with getting all 8 quarter-finalists exactly right for Euro 2008.

Well done and thanks for helping me earn a few quid. Not one of the British newspaper predictions I cut out got them all right, with most only getting 5 correct predictions. Keep up the good work and please pass on my thanks to Mr. O'Connor.
Thanks, John Rogers, Lluchmayor
