Dear Sir, I WAS surprised to read that your contributor Liam O'Donovan thought, even for a moment, that he might haggle down the price of “a few pairs” of shorts for which he was only being charged 5 Euros per pair. He went on to complain that the food and drinks at Palma Airport were much dearer than Alcudia. Has he ever compared the prices at Dublin Airport with those in his home town? Palma and all other airports' prices have always been higher than those where there is competition. I have been visiting Majorca since 1961 and it was the same then. Similarly, a cup of coffee in northwest London, where I live, is much cheaper than a similar cup of coffee in Heathrow. My advice is that if you don't get the price you want, don't buy !!
