LETTER RESPONSE
IN reply to Andy Pratt's letter (Majorca Daily Bulletin 20, June) I wish to point out that the main problem peace loving people all over the world are facing, is the West's constant provocation of the Arab and Islamic world.
Western support of Israel and our attitude to the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine were and are a source of great anger in all Muslim countries and are the root cause of most of the acts of terrorism in recent years.
This attempt to dictate what Muslim women can and cannot wear in Spain and other European countries, is yet another nail in the coffin of world peace, which we all hoped was about to break out when the Cold War ended.
If we really want to live in a world without war and terrorism, whether it is in Northern Ireland, the Middle East, the Basque Country or closer to home, compromises have to be made or the conflicts will go on for ever.
