Dear Sir, l On Sunday the 2 July, my wife and I arrived at Palma airport for a weeks stay (we come every month for a long weekend or longer). As our arrival was later than scheduled, due to aircraft delays, we decided to stop and the supermarket at the Bendinat roundabout en route to our apartment knowing that it may be closed if we had dropped our bags at the apartment first. We must have left our brains at the airport as in the 10 minutes that we were in the supermarket someone broke into our car and made off with TWO bags containing credit cards, cash, passports and basically everything else that was important to us. Luckily for us, there was a good Samaritan, no that's too inadequate of a description, there was a hero who gave chase, was threatened with a knife, but managed to return our bags. We were so “shell shocked” at what had gone on we didn't think to get the gents name or address. He was a man in his late 30*s or maybe early 40*s with his wife and son. You would not believe how much this hero has saved us and we would like to contact the individual concerned. If anyone knows please e-mail me at daveeddlestonUhotmail.com. I have been a regular visitor to Majorca since 1970 but it appears that petty crime is getting worse and would have thought that with Calvia being the “richest” county in Europe they could invest more in protecting its visitors with additional police and/or surveillance cameras. We are not blameless in this incident but please also warn others to be very vigilant as they may not have a super hero on hand to help them.
